Fused glass catch-all dishes featuring your favorite Chicago landmarks - part of an ever growing series!
This catch-all features the old Magikist neon sign, a Chicago icon which greeted anyone driving into the city from the North, West or South, and fascinated kids for decades. I screen printed the image in black and red enamels onto transparent light amber glass, with a 1/4" coordinating strip of opaque red, then fused in a kiln to about 1400 degrees. The piece was then cold worked on a glass saw and/or grinder, then returned to the kiln to slump into it's final shape.
It is screen printed, kiln formed glass, 4.5" square and slumped into a sushi-style mold making it about 3/4" high at the corners. Catch-alls are great for tossing your coins and keys into, hold rings and earrings, candles, soap, make cute appetizer plates, great spoon rests and decorative accents. They are food safe and we recommend hand washing, though they can go in the dishwasher.
